NATIONAL PRESIDENT UPDATE!

Hector Perea:

"Brothers of Alpha Gamma Omega I have had the privilege and honor to serve and support AGO for the last 23 years. It has been one my greatest decisions to become a brother of AGO at the Epsilon Chapter where I still call many of the men, brothers. As President for the last five years, we have seen chapters open and close; social and political unrest; and a pandemic that severely crippled our fraternity, but through all these adversities AGO has been able to push through with God’s grace. With the support of The Board of Directors, The Legion of Honor, and Council we have made it a priority to have the staff necessary to sustain AGO for the next 100 years. During this time period we bolstered our staff to add much needed Western and Eastern District Counselors in addition to our National Operations Manager. These AGO brothers have made it a priority to not only support the local chapters, but to also bring alumni members together. Their relentless dedication to AGO is the reason why we have brought more brothers in the fraternity and haven’t had to close more chapters. In my current role with my agency as a diplomat in Mexico City, it has become increasingly difficult to serve as President for Alpha Gamma Omega. After close discussions with members of The Board of Directors and The Legion of Honor I have decided to step down as President as of January 1, 2024. I will continue to champion and support AGO in any way I can as an alumnus. I want to thank you brothers for the unwavering support that you have provided to Alpha Gamma Omega.

Starting in 2024 we are appointing an Interim National President, Terry Wood. Terry currently serves on our board and has previously served as National President in years past. This does not in any way change the day-to-day operations of AGO. Appointing Terry allows us to recognize the Century initiative and continue to push for our long-term goal of hiring a full-time National President. Hector served graciously these last 5 years and was a crucial component in navigating us through 2020 - 2022. We now have stronger foundations in place because of his vision to hire staff. We thank him for his service and commitment to AGO and look forward to him serving in other capacities in years to come. If you have any questions please contact [email protected]
